GUIDE

Batch-compress JPG/PNG/WEBP locally (no upload)

Shop photos, event albums, web assets—you need a smaller pack, and you do not want originals dropped into a random “compress online” site. Upload means the files leave the device, and free web tools often add count and size walls.

1. Versus TinyPNG’s free web path

TinyPNG’s free web path is commonly about 20 images and ~5MB per file. That is fine for a handful of web assets; it gets in the way of folder-scale batches. BulkCrunch does not apply that kind of web quota. How many files you can run is mostly this device’s memory and browser, not a site counter.

That is not a knock on TinyPNG’s encoder. BulkCrunch uses in-browser encoding (JPEG/WEBP quality, PNG canvas re-encode). The point is local, batch-friendly, honest limits—not a clone of a cloud optimizer.

2. What to do on the home page

  1. Open BulkCrunch and drop or pick JPG / PNG / WEBP files.
  2. Set quality. If edges are huge, add an optional max edge.
  3. Compress and check before/after sizes per file.
  4. Download singles or one ZIP.

Trial one or two images before the whole pack. Keep sources and exports in separate folders so you never overwrite the only original.

3. “Local” in one sentence

Read, compress, and ZIP finish in this browser—you do not upload originals to BulkCrunch servers to complete those steps. That is not a promise the laptop is offline forever, or that a file never leaves if you later upload it somewhere else.

4. HEIC, metadata, watermarks
